Super Green Antioxidant Drink

Nu Healings Nutrition Ottawa

Use this recipe as a quick, healthy breakfast on the go (or for picky eaters) or a great anytime snack.

If making as a smoothie; start with 4 ounces of cold, pure water (not tap) or pure coconut water for each serving. More liquid can be added to desired consistency.

If making as a juice: Alternate each ingredient into your juicer (non-centrifugal) in the order given and repeat 1 more time.
Add 1 small handful of each of the following per serving:

  • Kale
  • Fresh Parsley
  • Spinach
  • ½ large organic Granny Smith apple

6 large organic dandelion leaves ***

  • Optional acai powder or frozen cubs. (Can be found in freezer at health food stores)
  • 1 scoop protein powder, unflavored or vanilla (1/2 serving each or add extra water)

Protein powders – Brands or types to look for: New Zealand whey only, or a good quality vegan protein such as Sun Warrior or Brad King’s.

***Dandelion root – if you can’t find leaves find a good quality organic powder form available in some health food stores or online.
Blend all the ingredients together and enjoy at least 8 oz. immediately but sip slowly.  The benefits are endless. This drink equals approximately half the daily required servings of fruit and veggies.
