When Hematocrit Levels are low (low blood volume)

Nu Healings Nutrition Ottawa

A delicious drink, especially when you are prone to anemia/low iron levels from cancer treatments.  This drink has a high content of folic acid, magnesium, potassium, vitamins C and E, as well as iron.

Ingredients

  • 1 beet top
  • 2 kale leaves
  • ½ cup broccoli florets (or other brassica vegetables) with stems
  • 4 carrots
  • 1 apple, cut into wedges (Granny Smith preferably)

Directions

  • Alternate feeding the ingredients into the juicer. Never use a Centrifugal Juicer.  Use only a twin-gear (Norwalk, Ange, Champion, Green Power etc.)
  • If you don’t have a good juicer you can make a version of this recipe using a high powered blender (Vitamix), Nutribullet or Ninja and add just enough pure water or pure coconut water to thin out slightly.
